Deluol Andre

French sculptor (1909-2007)

André Deluol was an internationally famous self-taught artist renowned for his works depicting femininity; he always created his sculptures in languorous and sensuous poses. He had a predilection for freestone and was awarded the First Prize from the Fondation Florence Blumenthal and the Eduoard Sandoz Grand Prix. His work is exhibited in many museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, museums in Poitiers, Nîmes, Valence and Amsterdam. He was commissioned by the French government on numerous occasions, for a bas-relief at the Pavillon de Sèvres for the 1937 World Exhibition in Paris and also for medals for the Monnaie de Paris. For Daum, he has signed a collection of feminine sculptures with luscious and mysterious curves.
