Guimet Museum
By creating the China Collection, Daum remains faithful to family tradition. As genuine Marco Polo of art, the Daum’s began exploring the great artistic cultures of the world in 1900. The House is now perpetuating this tradition in signing a unique sponsoring partnership with two of the great museums of Asian art especially the Musée Guimet.
The Musée Guimet, the national museum of Asian Art, was the result of the great project dreamed up by Lyon industrialist Émile Guimet (1836-1918). The Chinese section of the Musée Guimet contains some 20,000 objects covering seven thousand years of Chinese art, from its earliest beginnings up to the 18th century.
