Since 1950 he has started working slashed posters. In 1954, he created the "New Realits" group with Yves Klein, Pierre Restany, Jean Tinguely, Arman and Spoerri. In 1958, he writes a pamphlet about slashed posters called Des réalités collectives, prefiguration of the New Realism. Since then he is considered as the historian of the Lacérée anonyme, entity created in 1959. Since 1957, the selective work of Villeglé has been the object of more than 140 personal exhibitions in the world, and the latest one in the Centre Beaubourg in Paris in 2009.
