Carlos Mata

Carlos Mata is a Spanish sculptor, born in 1949 in Palma de Mallorca and died in July 2008. The countryside, the landscapes of his childhood, the horse, and the bull are all sources of inspiration for the sculptor. In his work, he makes play with elementary forms and exploits the many colours, textures and irregularities of oxidized cast iron. For Daum, he created Troya and Cabeza. A majestic piece made of vibrant colors, Troya takes us back to the memories of the famous Trojan horse. For Cabeza, beautiful curves and incredible colour variations enhance the imaginary dimension of this work.
